Rex has been a Disc Jockey since 1990.
While starting as an apprentice
for an Ottawa-based Disc Jockey
company, he learned the basics of
the Disc Jockey business from experienced
professionals. Everything from hooking
up sound and lighting equipment
to pleasing the wide variety of
musical tastes of all ages.
Wanting to diversify his experience,
Rex started working in various bars
in Ottawa and Hull 7 nights a week.
Here, Rex acquired knowledge of
top 40, dance, R&B/Hip Hop and
rock genres of music.
Rex eventually became the in-house DJ
for a hall that catered weddings,
stags, corporate parties and holiday
parties every weekend. Catering
to different groups of all ages,
Rex gained more experience and expanded
his knowledge of music for all types
of parties, especially weddings.
Rex became familiar with what music
people enjoyed, what music people
requested and what music were everyone's
all-time favorites. Rex became a
master at reading people's musical
tastes.
After a couple of years, Rex Mobile
Disc Jockey Service was born. Already an experienced
DJ, the transition to a mobile DJ was easy. Rex was
able to use all of his experience to please every
party, whether it be a wedding, a corporate party,
an anniversary, a stag, etc. The only difference was
Rex would now also supply the DJ equipment. Being
involved in the DJ community combined with Rex's fascination
with the art of DJing, Rex keeps up-to-date with the
latest DJ equipment. Rex Mobile only uses professional
DJ sound and lighting equipment and its CD library
(10,000 songs) consists of many varieties of music
including everything from the 1950's to today's chart
toppers.
